Hummingbird Feeders are FUNctional ART! It is wheel thrown and hand-built so all vary a little. That is what makes it unique...it's art, one of a kind.

I am a lone potter, a one person studio. I make all the items, by hand. This is a wheel thrown feeder with flowers that are hand sculpted then applied. Since the feeders and flowers are all "hand made" each will be a slight be different. Flowers may be different sizes, different placement and may or may not overlap. Organic, like in nature. Numerous, colored glazes (blue, green, purple, red and yellow) are applied to give the background a watercolor look. Then it's fired to approx 2200 F.

Each piece is a "one of a kind" piece of art.

Remove the cork and fill it with nectar. The nectar recipe is on the attached card ( the nectar recipe is for 1 cup). Each feeder holds approx 1 cup, but they are wheel-thrown and hand-built, so each will hold a little more or less. As in nature, flowers they drink from have no perches and neither does this feeder. It's designed for the way hummingbirds to eat. They eat while flying for their protection. These feeders, just like in nature, are made for them to flit from flower to flower without having to perch…again this is for their safety. It is nice though, to have something for them to perch on nearby. That way they can rest, occasionally, safely between feedings.

Since it is wheel thrown and hand-made pottery (clay) please take it inside during freezes or extreme weather.

CLEAN by throwing it in the dishwasher, or just a little bleach water in a bucket then rinse.

Flowers come in red, purple, and yellow. (sometimes orange) If we are out of the color you choose, I will contact you and let you know what color flowers I have currently in stock to see if you would like one of them instead or tell you how long it will take to make one of the color you would prefer. If not color is not chosen, red is the default color. Also, since I try to give it the "impressionist effect" and/or watercolor effect, some colors may bleed or be on other colors on the flowers.

Questions most asked;

How to keep ants out of my hummingbird feeder?

Answer is, you can't. They will find a way. But, I find moving the feeder to a different spot, fairly often, helps the best for me. With ants and flying bugs. But here are some tips I found very helpful..
